Georgetown: Georgetown is the county seat of Williamson County and was the first city in Texas to be honored by the National Trust as the Great American Main Street City. It was ranked by the 2016 U.S. Census Bureau as the fifth fastest-growing city in America.  

San Marcos: Home to Texas State University, San Marcos is largely populated by college students who enjoy floating the San Marcos River. Speaking of the river, an underwater archaeological dig uncovered artifacts dating back over 12,000 years to the Clovis Indians, the oldest known inhabitants of the western hemisphere.  

Pflugerville: Pflugerville boasts more than 40 miles of trails, parks and the beautiful Lake Pflugerville for residents to enjoy. The once quaint German town is now one of the fastest-growing locations in the Greater Austin area.

Residents enjoy kayaking, boating, swimming in and hiking around Lady Bird Lake (which is also referred to as Town Lake by Austinites but is a river-like reservoir), a body of water located right in the center of the city.   

Natural landmarks that are frequented by both residents and visitors include the Barton Creek Greenbelt’s 809 acres of trails, trees and swimming holes, the stunning views of the city at Mt. Bonnell and Zilker Park, which is home to the iconic Barton Springs Pool, a botanical garden and a nature and science center.  

The city is also a magnet for music festival lovers. Austin City Limits takes over Zilker Park in October and draws hundreds of artists and around 450,000 people over two weekends every year.  

The South by Southwest festival in March brings together film, interactive media, music and conferences for over a week of celebration, which is meant to create an opportunity for "creative people to develop their careers by bringing together people from around the globe to meet, learn and share ideas." 

Austin Nightlif 

The fun doesn’t stop in Austin when the sun goes down, in fact some would argue it gets better.
